So, have you heard about this new action-thriller on JioCinema called “Ranneeti”? It’s directed by Santosh Singh and stars Lara Dutta and Jimmy Shergill. The series is about an ex-RAW agent plotting an airstrike in Balakot as payback, while also on the hunt for a traitor who derailed his mission in Serbia eight years ago.
Now, if this were a big-screen flick, some of the dialogue would have whipped up some cheers, especially the Pak-bashing lines. One memorable zinger? “When Sachin Tendulkar used to hit sixers, your prime minister used to fetch the ball from the boundary.” Ouch, right?

But hold up. Despite its patriotic fervor, “Ranneeti” is more than just your typical flag-waving saga. It zooms in on the ‘Beyond’ aspect, highlighting how modern warfare isn’t just about tanks and guns anymore. Nope, it’s all about the internet battleground, where truth is as slippery as an eel. Social media manipulation and controlling the international narrative are all fair game.
And let’s give credit where it’s due. The series is a heartfelt tribute to our armed forces. Take, for instance, the Balakot airstrike aftermath—a retaliation for the tragic suicide attack on our soldiers. It’s a story of diligence and guts, with an undercover hero, Iqbal, played by Satyajeet Dubey, pulling off a stealthy mission that hits its mark.

What’s best about Ranneeti Balakot And Beyond?
Ranneeti is this incredible show with 9 episodes that mixes real stuff with made-up things. It’s super exciting and keeps you hooked the whole time. They spend a lot of money making it look really cool, and you can totally see what they’re going for. The story moves along really well, and the camera work is fantastic. Oh, and watch out for this crazy action scene in episode 8 with Satyajeet Dubey and Elnaaz Norouzi. It’s intense!
What you may not find intriguing about Ranneeti Balakot And Beyond?
Okay, so Ranneeti may seem to have some issues that kinda bring it down. Since it’s based on true stuff, adding too much drama can make it less believable, you know? Plus, it gets a bit too filmy, which takes away from its rough and real vibe. The special effects, especially in the action scenes, can be a bit much sometimes. And some of the characters who aren’t Indian feel like they’re just stereotypes. Also, there are some parts where the dialogue feels forced and sticks out awkwardly. And don’t get me started on those scenes that just drag on forever. They could’ve trimmed them down a bit.
So, is Ranneeti binge-worthy or not?
So, Ranneeti is pretty fast-paced and keeps you hooked, but sometimes the plot feels a bit too easy, you know? But hey, if you’re into spy stuff, it’s still a decent show to binge-watch. And guess what? You can catch it on JioCinema now!
