Gadar 2: The Katha Continues is an upcoming Indian film that serves as a sequel to the highly successful film, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Directed by Anil Sharma and produced by Dharmendra, the film promises to captivate audiences with its compelling story and talented cast.
Gadar: Ek Prem Katha told the timeless love story of Tara Singh, an Indian Sikh man, and Sakeena, an aristocratic Pakistani lady. Gadar, starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, was a box office success at the time, with the film’s dramatic plot and soul-stirring music making a lasting effect on the audience.
Now, filmmaker Anil Sharma is back to take the story of Tara and Sakeena forward in his upcoming film Gadar: The Katha Continues.

Talking about the film, Rohit said: “Jahan ‘Gadar’ ki story khatam hui thi, wahin se ‘Gadar 2’ ki story shuru hogi (‘Gadar 2’ will start from where ‘Gadar’ ended). While the first film told the story from the time of 1947 to 1954, the second instalment will follow the timeline between 1954 to 1971.”
Speaking about the plot of the film, Gadar 2 will majorly focus on the unbreakable bond between father and son, Tara Singh and his son Jeete. Jeete, played by Utkarsh Sharma, is an Indian soldier. The story takes a 20-year leap and is set during the India-Pakistan war in 1970. This time, Tara Singh crosses the border not for his wife Sakeena but to save his son’s life.
Apart from this, Manish Wadhwa will take up the role of Amrish Puri, who died in 2005 as a result of a brain hemorrhage. Rohit Choudhary, well known for his roles in films and television series such as Bareilly Ki Barfi, Naagin, and Kumkum Bhagya, has been cast as the second villain in Gadar 2. Sunny Deol, as Tara Singh, will be seen fighting these two antagonists in the film.
Actor Rohit Choudhary, who plays Pakistani Major Malik in ‘Gadar 2,’ recently shared pictures on Twitter celebrating the completion of the film’s shoot. The photos captured the joyful crew posing together after wrapping up the filming.
In his tweet, Rohit Choudhary expressed his excitement, stating that the shooting for the highly anticipated film, ‘Gadar 2,’ has been finished. He expressed his gratitude for being a part of the project and eagerly awaits its release on 11th August 2023.
